ON PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE...

1. Is this a Tablea (tsokolate) chocolate?

By nature, YES, this is a Tablea (tsokolate) chocolate which is made from made of  roasted, ground nibs of fermented pure cacao nibs without added ingredients and additives. Traditional Tablea (tsokolate) is made by simply grinding the cacao beans a little less, and then form the mass into balls to store for later use (instead of adding sugar and refining further). 

QUALITY-WISE, our PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE is made from premium selected cacao beans and processed to a superfine-textured chocolate which has the same quality and process with the regular ready-to-eat chocolate that we know - hence the name PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE - "less the sugar".

 

We also GUARANTEE that our PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE is purely made of carefully handpicked premium cacao beans WITHOUT ANY SUGAR, EXTENDERS AND PRESERVATIVES.

2. Does the PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE expire?

NO, it doesn't. As long as it still tastes good, it should be just fine to eat. Although some may appear grayish due to some natural cocoa butter rising to the surface, rest assured that it's still fine to consume. HOWEVER, to maintain our pride on our product's quality, we mark an expiry date on each bottle of PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE with 18 months expiry date from its manufacturing date.

 

3. What are the uses for the PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE?

Traditionally, this is used for making Filipino hot chocolate drink. Once you've dissolved in the water, you can actually use it in all manner of desserts aside from hot chocolate to give it a more rustic and distinct chocolate flavor. If you are more into a complex and entertaining eating experience, you may also eat the Premium Unsweetened Chocolate, however, it has bitterness.

4. Is it creamy if melted or gritty (grainy, sandy)?

Our Premium Unsweetened Chocolate is made with super fine texture and has a high export quality. It is purely organic and made with 100% cacao, with MINIMUM REMNANTS as proof of its purity. It is therefore rich, creamy and aromatic when you make a hot chocolate.

5. Can you eat the Premium Unsweetened Chocolate directly?

YES and NO. Yes, Some people enjoy eating 100% Cacao, It has an intense bitterness but it is going to be powerfully nutritious with some unique antioxidants. However, if you are looking for something sweet, then NO, you cannot directly eat our Premium Unsweetened Chocolate. You can try our 70% Premium Dark Chocolate instead if you are looking for a ready-to-eat chocolate.

6. Is this safe for diabetics?

YES BUT IN MODERATION. Since this is 100% Unsweetened Cacao, this is bitter, without sugar. You may enjoy a bitter hot chocolate drink or you may add sweeteners which are safe for diabetics. According to studies, people with diabetes can still have sweets, chocolate, or other sugary foods as long they are eaten as part of a healthful meal plan or combined with exercise.

7. Is this okay to consume even if you are on a keto-diet?

YES OF COURSE! Somewhat surprisingly, chocolate can be part of a ketogenic diet. However, it is important to choose dark chocolate that contains a minimum of 70% cacao solids, preferably more. This is 100% cacao, and is bitter. You may add low-calorie sweeteners to enjoy a sweeter hot chocolate drink.

 

 

ON 70% PREMIUM DARK CHOCOLATE...

 

1. How does it differ from the PREMIUM UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE?

While both are healthy to consume and safe for diabetics to indulge in moderation, our 70% Premium Dark Chocolate is a ready-to-eat version, unlike the Premium Unsweetened Chocolate which you need to dissolve in water for drinking or baking.

2. I am on a weight-loss diet. How much dark chocolate can I consume without having to worry?

Experts suggest that it is recommended to eat about approximately 30-60g of at least 70% Dark Chocolate (or higher) as a part of your weight-loss program. Anything more than that, you may be consuming to much calories. In one study in 12 women, smelling and eating dark chocolate decreased appetite and reduced levels of ghrelin, the hormone that stimulates hunger

3. I am diabetic, can I eat the 70% Premium Dark Chocolate?

Have a rich serving of dark chocolate — but limit the serving to about 21 to 28 grams. That way, you'll get some of the benefits of dark chocolate and satisfy your craving for something sweet, but you won't break the bank on your calories, saturated fat, carb, or sugar intake.

4. How did you make the 70% Premium Dark Chocolate a little less bitter than tablea?

A 100% pure chocolate is bitter. We have added some coco sugar (about 15%) to make it less bitter and enjoyable to consume directly.

5. What I am avoiding is the sugar content. May I know the exact sugar content (%)?

Sugar content is 15% that's why if you will be tasting the 70% Dark Chocolate, you can savor its bitterness and a small bite of the sourness of the cacao fruit. Its formula is surely health-conscious friendly. Our 70% dark chocolate is 70% hand selected cacao beans, 15% cacao butter, and 15% coco sugar.  Coco sugar is low in the glycemic index. But then again, it should be consumed moderately.

ON 100% PREMIUM WILD RAW HONEY...

1. What is a wild raw honey?

Wild Honey comes from the nectar of wildflowers that the bees pollinate and hence the name. The taste, color and composition are said to change with the seasons. Raw honey is best described as honey “as it exists in the beehive.” It is extracted from the beehive, strained and poured straight into the bottle, bypassing commercial processing methods. Therefore, our 100% PREMIUM WILD RAW HONEY is uncooked, unadulterated, unpasteurized and is straight from the wild.

2. Is a wild raw honey better than processed honey?

VERY MUCH YES! Raw honey contains up to 4.3 times more antioxidants than the processed variety (the honey that we commonly buy in the grocery stores).

3. Why is wild raw honey good for you?

Our natural and chemical-free honey is produced in the natural bee hives of the cliffs and trees in the forests of highland South Cotabato. Our local farmers maintain the integrity of the beehives and protect the bee colonies by not spraying pesticides in the area.

2. Robusta is said to be the strongest coffee in the world. What is the intensity of your Robusta coffee?

Robusta coffee tastes earthy and is often said to have a bitter, rubbery/grain-like flavor, with a peanutty aftertaste. However, there's no need for you to worry with our medium roast Robusta coffee - you get to experience the benefits of extra caffeine, more antioxidants, and delicious flavor without being overwhelmed with the taste.

3. Why coffee beans? Who buys coffee beans?

It all boils down to the coffee-lover's own preference. Grinding whole-bean coffee right before brewing ensures freshness, reduces exposure to flavor-destroying oxygen and helps to protect the natural flavors of the coffee from becoming bland and stale.

4. How to grind the coffee beans?

Grind the coffee beans with a coffee grinder for a uniform consistency which is critical to producing the best cup of coffee. Otherwise, if you have no coffee grinder, you can use alternatives such as a mortar and pestle, a blender, a rolling pin, a hammer (meat tenderizer), or a food processor (pulse technique is key to making a decent cup of coffee, if not great).

5. What is the flavor difference between PREMIUM ROASTED (BARAKO) and PREMIUM HONEY ROASTED?

PREMIUM HONEY ROASTED - While not mixed with actual honey, this variant has good clarity and a medium-high acidity. These are really a pleasant middle ground when it comes to flavor, with an extra hint of sweetness, complex, sweet, heavy-bodied, and with a mellow acidity.

PREMIUM ROASTED (BARAKO) - Robusta coffee tastes earthy and is often said to have a bitter, rubbery/grain-like flavor, with a peanutty aftertaste. ON PREMIUM ROBUSTA COARSE GROUND COFFEE...

1. What are the available coarse ground coffee flavors?

Our Premium Robusta Coarse Ground Coffee is available in PREMIUM NATURAL and PREMIUM WASHED variants.

2. What is the flavor difference between PREMIUM NATURAL and PREMIUM WASHED processed?

PREMIUM NATURAL - is the dry processed Robusta coffee, which features a wild and complex flavor. The long fermentation and drying stage allows the fruity flavors of the cherry to be absorbed by the beans, giving its intense fruity note and aroma.

PREMIUM WASHED - is the wet processed Robusta coffee, having a brighter acidity than coffee from other methods. It has a high level of flavor clarity without a lot of muddiness or cloudiness that blends flavors together. These coffee are consistently delicious, crisp, clear and insightful.

3. What is a coarse ground coffee?

A coarse ground coffee looks somewhat chunky. Grinding the coffee too coarse will make the coffee weak. Grinding too fine will make the coffee murky and taste bitter. IT IS BEST USED IN A FRENCH PRESS OR IN A COLD BREW.  Because the coffee is steeped in boiling water, the contact time between the water and coffee is much longer, which requires a coarser grind.

4. I don't have a French Press for my coarse coffee, what can I do about it?

ON PREMIUM ROBUSTA INSTANT COFFEE...

1. What are the available instant coffee flavors?

Our Premium Robusta Instant Coffee are available in 4 different flavors: PREMIUM ROASTED (BARAKO), PREMIUM HONEY ROASTED, PREMIUM NATURAL and PREMIUM WASHED.

2. How to use the instant coffee?

This is NOT 3-in-1 coffee and it DOES NOT contain any additive. This is FINELY GROUND PURE NATIVE COFFEE which you can dissolve in hot water. HOWEVER, due to it being PURE COFFEE WITHOUT ANY ADDITIVE, it does not completely dissolve. Quickly prepare and enjoy your medium Robusta coffee just by adding hot water to the instant coffee powder. You may filter out the remnants by pouring the coffee over a coffee filter paper for you to enjoy and consume the whole cup of coffee. Otherwise, you may directly drink and enjoy your coffee but be sure to leave the sediments at the bottom of the cup.
