RaisingAwareness: UF Vanilla Farm Soft Launch Event Brings Attention to Vanilla Farming in Sarangani

Sarangani Province, Philippines - The UF Vanilla Farm launched its Authentic Vanilla Extract and Authentic Vanilla Syrup in a soft launching event held on May 5, 2023. The event aimed to raise awareness about vanilla farming and the vanilla industry in Sarangani Province.

Various personalities from the province attended the event, including Provincial Information Officer Joana Grace Lapore, OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Agnes Du, DTI-Sarangani Provincial Director Ethel Laksmi Gumana, Committee Chair on Agriculture SB James Mark Reganit, and coffee Q graders of Region 12. They conducted a coffee appreciation session for the Kape Maitum farmers and processors, showcasing the province's abundant coffee plantations.

The Sarangani Provincial Information Office, the Provincial Tourism Council of Sarangani, Inc., and the Municipality of Maitum Community Development Information Office covered the event extensively to ensure it got the coverage it deserved.


The UF Vanilla Farm seeks to make vanilla farming as prevalent in the province as coffee farming. The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities and uplift the economic activities, not just in Sarangani but in nearby provinces as well. The farm intends to make Sarangani one of the top producers of high-quality vanilla in the world.

The soft launching event showcased the hard work and dedication put into creating authentic vanilla products - from sourcing high-quality raw materials, crafting them into intricate goods, and [later on] marketing them to the global market. The initiative to bring vanilla farming to the forefront aimed to raise awareness of its potential to help the local community.
