Taking risks has always been a defining part of my journey, and this year, that risk led me to an incredible opportunity—the AGRA-Middle East 2024. With very limited funds and little preparation, I set out with nothing but a dream and the confidence to make things happen. I am deeply thankful for the support that made this possible, especially to the Office of Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon and Maam Rona Ermitano Belocura, who sent a stipend allowance at the last minute when I reached out for help.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Ayah and Victor Patrick, who generously adopted me for meals during this trip. Your kindness meant the world to me.
The decision to travel came with its own sacrifices. I had to put my preparation for the BPI Foundation, Inc. on hold in hopes that this trip would lead to something greater—an opportunity to grow my social enterprise and support my community with income-generating projects in agriculture. I knew the road ahead was uncertain, but I was ready to take that leap of faith.
The plan? Simply to stand out. No matter the odds, I knew I had to leave a lasting impression. To help me with this vision, Jozel Ignes crafted custom pieces that showcased our heritage. From the Tulabong-inspired patadyong to the vampire-inspired barong and the Caballero, each outfit highlighted my roots and aspirations. And trust me, they did not disappoint.
So, after all the expenses, the long days, and countless engagements, did I achieve my goal? I can confidently say yes. This might very well be the most successful engagement I have ever attended. Not only did I secure a market for the chips we’re about to launch, but I also closed deals for vanilla and even got the ball rolling on a potential market for coconut products.
However, the most valuable outcome from this experience isn’t just the business deals. The network I’ve built is invaluable. And thanks to God-sent people, one of the most pressing issues I’ve been struggling with—the vanilla extract flavoring analysis test—was solved during this trip. That, in itself, was the highlight of it all!
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering confidence given to me by the DA-AMAS and AMAD 12. This marks my second time participating in this event, and I can proudly say that I’ve represented my enterprise well. The hard work I’ve put in is starting to pay off, and I’m eager to see the fruits of this journey in the near future. The risks were worth it, and now I’m one step closer to realizing my dreams.
